Our walk-in Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna emits the full range of infrared wavelengths, near, mid, and far, rather than relying on hot air alone. Where a traditional Finnish sauna heats the room to 170–195°F and your body warms by convection, infrared light passes through the air and warms the body directly. The result is a deep, full-body sweat at a noticeably lower ambient temperature (typically 120–150°F), easier to breathe, easier to stay in, and easier to use as a regular practice.
Each wavelength is associated with a different focus: near-infrared with skin and surface tissue, mid-infrared with muscle and circulation, and far-infrared with the core body warming most people recognize as the "deep sweat." Sessions run 20–30 minutes. The sauna stands beside the cold plunge inside Contrast Studio, so it can be used on its own or paired into a Contrast Therapy circuit, hot to cold and back, for a more pronounced recovery effect.
A long, deep sweat session is one of the body's most direct ways to clear heat-stable compounds, and a deeply satisfying part of a weekly reset.
Regular sauna use is associated with healthier blood pressure and improved vascular function, a "passive cardio" effect for the off days.
Heat eases stiffness, supports circulation, and is a popular post-training tool, especially when paired with cold plunge for true contrast therapy.
A measured rise and fall in body temperature is a well-known sleep cue, a late-afternoon or early-evening session can help the body drop into rest more easily.
- Sauna bathing & the heart. The most cited body of sauna evidence is the Finnish KIHD cohort (Laukkanen et al.), in which regular sauna bathing was associated with lower cardiovascular and all-cause mortality. While the original cohort studied traditional Finnish saunas, the underlying mechanism, repeated, sustained heat exposure, is the same physiology Full Spectrum Infrared replicates at a more accessible ambient temperature.
- Direct heating, lower air temperature. Infrared warms the body directly rather than warming the room first. That allows a meaningful core-temperature rise, and a strong sweat, at a temperature most people find easier to tolerate for longer sessions, which is what the cardiovascular literature consistently associates with benefit.
- Vascular & blood-pressure response. Across both traditional and infrared sauna studies, sessions are associated with a transient blood-pressure drop and improved endothelial (vessel-lining) function. A 2025 Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine review summarizes the mechanism clearly.
- Recovery & sleep. Heat exposure followed by cool-down is a classic thermoregulatory pattern: core body temperature rises during the session, then falls afterward, and sleep research associates this warm-then-cool pattern with easier sleep onset and a calmer, more restful recovery state.
Build heat tolerance gradually. Hydrate well before and after; come out before you stop sweating.
The cardiovascular and recovery literature consistently shows the strongest signal at this regular cadence.
Pair with Cold Plunge, sauna → plunge → rest, repeated. End on cold for an alert finish; end on warm for a wind-down.
